SCHOOLS AND PUBLIC SPACES
We firmly believe that education is the best tool to achieve progress for people and society. Children of impoverished families must have the possibility of receiving adequate education and training to be able to fully develop and escape the cycle of poverty into which they are born.
SCHOOL CLASSROOMS
In collaboration with Fundación Telefónica and its Vacaciones Solidarias project, CAEMBA developed two models of school classrooms: One designed for long-term use and another for emergency situations. Both models prioritize ventilation and natural light.
CHARACTERISTICS
The long-term model has a ceiling of sliced bamboo boards placed in the shape of an arch and bolted to the main structure to give greater strength to the construction and also provide thermal insulation.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
The walls are plastered on the outside to improve their resistance to weather conditions. The interior part of exposed bamboo creates a very friendly natural space for children and young people.
