The Raíz Ecuador Foundation supports indigenous education in the Amazon. In the second week of June 2022, we delivered 8 tables and 35 chairs for children to the Intercultural Bilingual School of the Secoya Remolino community, of the Siekopai indigenous nationality. We also provided blue paint for the school. This community is located on the Aguarico River, in Sucumbíos.
We would like to express our gratitude to Pinturas Cóndor for their donation of blue paint, which was used for maintaining the school. We painted the exterior walls.
Aimer Payaguaje, a teacher at the school, received the materials for the school. We also thank our field technician, Yadira Ocoguaje, for managing the logistics and transportation to deliver these materials to the community.
Since the school is a single-teacher school, these materials will allow children to learn in a more appropriate manner by facilitating division into groups according to educational level and age. We are very grateful to the American School of Quito Foundation for facilitating this donation.
