Supported by various organizations in the forestry sector, the Sacha Awards have spotlighted projects and individuals from 30 countries, acknowledging initiatives that contribute significantly to environmental preservation. This achievement highlights the prominent position of “The Raíz-CAEMBA Foundation” at the forefront of sustainable practices.
Each house built by “CAEMBA” uses 2,000 kg of bamboo, a material that absorbs 1,000 kg of carbon. For just USD 100, companies can claim the absorption of this amount of carbon, contributing not only to the environment but also to social benefits. Bamboo construction replaces cement constructions, thus reducing CO2 emissions associated with cement production, responsible for 5% of global emissions.
Sustainability doesn’t stop there. Considering the benefits aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), “CAEMBA” values a ton of CO2 at USD 100, surpassing the standard value of USD 50. As a humanitarian housing project, this price increases, demonstrating that sustainability and social responsibility go hand in hand.
